Professor Jerome Segura has been a contributor to the research process since 2017, through participating in numerous interviews and reviewing draft content for the book manuscript Beloved Economies.
Professionally, Jerome is a PhD urban and regional economist and former assistant professor and director of and chief economist in an economic research bureau. Jerome is published in scholarly journals such as Papers in Regional Science, Journal of Regional Analysis and Policy, and the Journal of Sports Economics. Having leaped from the ivory tower in 2018 to focus on his family, he assumed the role of stay at home dad of 2 boys, 1 and 5 years old, and discovered mushroom cultivation as a hobby. Now, Jerome continues to be a work from home dad as a gourmet mushroom farmer. He is currently exploring mycoremediation as economic development and redevelopment strategies for rural and urban communities. Staying true to his Cajun heritage, Jerome enjoys cooking excellent foods such as jambalaya, gumbo, and boiled crawfish.
