Anke Ehlert

Contributing Researcher

As a contributing researcher to Beloved Economies, Anke lends her support in filling content and research gaps in the various stages of the book development process.

Anke’s passion for and belief in social and economic justice is what brought her to the Beloved Economies team. Her prior work focused on education and children and then expanded to poverty and communities at large. She lived and worked in Detroit as a second grade teacher through Teach For America and partnered with community-serving organizations like Brilliant Detroit, Citizen Yoga, and Downtown Boxing Gym. Since her time in Detroit, Anke has managed Stanford University’s largest qualitative study on poverty and inequality. She holds a B.A. from Johns Hopkins University and is a current MBA student at Columbia Business School, where she plans to use the tools she learns to transform the ways in which businesses run and impact people and communities.
