Hafsa Mustafa

Hafsa is a seasoned learning and evaluation (L&E) expert, fundraiser, educator, researcher, and strategy consultant with more than 15 years of experience working with nonprofits, foundations, governments, and businesses in the U.S. and abroad. Since 2017, she first served Thousand Currents as a Learning and Evaluation Manager and later evolved to support Thousand Currents Philanthropic Partnerships work managing organizational relationships with foundations and affinity groups. 

Hafsa earned her Master’s in Public Policy and Program Evaluation from the University of Chicago. She has worked and led over a hundred research, strategy, and fundraising projects in various fields, including food and nutrition, education, health care, mental health, and businesses. Some of Hafsa’s significant work includes developing tools and systems for RISEPAK – an award-winning community project by John Hopkins University and the World Bank; evaluating grassroots innovation projects featured in Standford Social Innovation Review, co-establishing M&E systems at Marie Stopes International for the Buffet Foundation Project; leading a qualitative study for the Kennedy School at Harvard University on the Hajj, and advising a University of Illinois research project on first-generation West Africans. 

Hafsa is currently an Adjunct Faculty at the University of San Francisco’s School of Management and volunteers her time by working on pro-bono projects for the American Pakistan Foundation and serving on the boards of the University of Chicago Bay Area Alumni Association and Collaborative Enterprise Exchange. 

Jaclyn Gilstrap

Jaclyn Gilstrap (she/her/hers) is an activist whose work has focused on supporting women and young people to get the resources they need. She is committed to things like sexual and reproductive rights, racial justice, youth leadership, and ethical global engagement. Jaclyn dabbles in visual art, loves a good queer dance party, and believes in the power of community-led protests. Her strengths are event planning, organizational development, and youth mentorship.
